Japanese ATM interface – with two bowing staff members after an ATM card has been declined.
20 Cultural Norms in Japan (click through to see them all)
it’s amazing to see the difference in ATM’s across the world - Japan - you get a calculator and sadness if you’re declined, in the states you get a receipt printer that is broken and someone that put a dime in the card dip reader. in South Africa they have ATMs that will shock you if you try to open it incorrectly or move it.
yet in the end they are all a means to give you money without talking to a person.
